My friend Renzie asked if he could feature our Peruvian trip in his food blog, so I compiled all my food photos here. I've already forgotten some of the names of the dishes, but I do remember that all of them were phenomenally good! One dish that I didn't have take a photo while in Peru was the Ceviche (a.k.a. Kinilaw). To make up for it, I took photos of the dish when we dined at a Peruvian restaurant here in Atlanta (

One thing about Peruvian cuisine is the perennial presence of potatoes, which is understandable since they have more than 3000 varieties of the starchy root crop.
As for our very memorable lunch in the town of Oropesa, just outside Cusco - I didn't post all the photos from that meal, as it may not be for the faint of heart, staunch animal lovers or those who are just easily upset by things unfamiliar to them. Click at your own risk - consider this as your warning. Do note that while Pinoys love to lechon (roast) pigs for special occasions, Peruanos have their own version of roasting a different kind of pig, sort of. Eating this dish is a big deal to them and is usually served during important occasions like baptisms and birthdays.)
